My ultimate goal as a wedding photographer is to capture the emotion of the day and if you love your images, then I feel like I have done my job. Somehow with this couple it turned into something more. As a little background, Jamie & I have known each other for about five years and it was with mixed feelings that I agreed to photograph her wedding. "Why?", you may be asking. Jamie doesn't like having her picture taken nor does she like herself in pictures. I hear this so much from brides, but this was different, and needless to say, I like a challenge :) Not only had I agreed to be her wedding photographer, but I was on a mission, and yes, I was escorting her to the gym to help inspire her to not only look good, but feel as beautiful as she truly is. This girl was going to be happy in her wedding dress and love her wedding pictures! That was nine months ago, since when we have shed some pounds and tears together and out of which developed a beautiful friendship. I wanted Jamie to feel special and I wanted her wedding imagery to allow her to recall the emotion that she felt on that day and not even think about how she 'looked'.

This isn't about me, but of this beautiful couple who found in each other a special love. Jamie was escorted down the aisle by her father on the shore of Cobbett's Pond at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center as Jason watched in adoration as she walked towards him to say "I do". Along the way the ring bearer gave warning that 'Auntie' was on her way! Radiating in her A-line strapless dress, accented with a purple sash and delicate lace and beaded bodice she held a bouquet of purple roses. Cascading curls were tamed by a delicate pearl and crystal hair band, but what made Jamie look the most beautiful was the genuine smile she wore that made her glow.

Every detail of this wedding was enveloped in purple, from the ornate details on the cake, to the hand-make guest book, floral design and accents within the bridal party. Even the girls sported purple flip-flops and satin robes as they had their hair and make-up done prior to the nuptials.

In a day of joy and new beginnings, the couple honored those who could not be a part of their special day by having a memory table for the bride's grandparents. Jamie and her father both held them close as Jamie had rosary beads of her grandmother's ashes wrapped around her bouquet, and her father had a pendent holding his father close to his heart.

The gorgeous cake was topped with a gift from the groom's sister. Jamie had mischievousness in her expression as she eyed the slice of cake she smashed into Jason's face.

Towards the end of the event, in party tradition the bouquet was tossed and fell into the arms of the flower girl. The ring bearer caught the garter and danced the end of the day with it around his ankle in total 'cuteness', and Jason wrapped up the show by singing his heart out along-side his parents and sister to 'Get Low' - rapping moves included!

Every guest left with a wedding cake cookie favor labeled perfectly.......'a sweet ending to a new beginning'. Jamie & Jason, I wish you every happiness as you start on this grand adventure together.
