Maternity Session - Then there were Four

As a wedding photographer you meet so many people from a wide variety of places; guests visiting from out of town, vendors from all diversity of the wedding industry and of course the bride and groom along with their parents and bridal party. I love getting to know many of these people, creating art for them, capturing their memories and working along side them.

One of the most beautiful things is when you get to see wedding couples grow into a family; wedding couples becoming parents. Many times I will have clients who I have seen and photographed through many life memories. I often feel like part of the family. It is great seeing the art I created adorning the walls of their homes.

Kelsey is a fellow vendor; I had the honor of photographing her sister's wedding last year, but this time it was her time to shine, sharing with you some memories from her maternity session I did a few weeks ago. In the fall I heard that Kelsey was pregnant and she was bursting with excitement when she asked if I would do a maternity session with her. From that day way back in the glow of autumn, she was determined that she wanted portraits in the snow. Well for those of you not experiencing the New England weather first hand..........our winter has been a roller coaster of dips and twists in the adventure of winter. And of course with a maternity session, its not like we can exactly wait around for the right moment. Mother nature was not cooperating, so we set a date and rolled with it.  Portraiture for me is not about the setting, the scene or the backdrop, its all about the relationship and emotion. Here are a few of my favorites to share - I cannot wait to meet baby Hayes. And from the words of one of the best childhood characters EVER! - "A Grand Adventure is about to begin" ~ Winnie the Pooh.

God Bless all three. Such a beautiful mom to be and a wonderful way to show baby Hayes how mom and big sister and dad are so happy waiting for his arrival. Congratulations!
