FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many years experience do you have?
I have been photographing weddings for the past six years. Prior to that I concentrated on portraiture giving me a solid background for wedding imagery. Although weddings are now my primary focus, many of my wedding couples return for maternity, newborn and family portraiture.
What is your photography style?
I am more of an illustrative photographer using a blend of traditional and photojournalistic styles, with an emphasis on composition and lighting. My aim is to capture you in an interesting, yet complimenting environment, and encourage you to relax and interact. Illustrative captures some of the spontaneity of candids while offering the techinical control of posed shots. I also love capturing those details of the wedding that you have spent months preparing.
Will you be the one photographying our wedding?
Yes, I will be your main photographer along with my second photographer and assistant, we will be the team photographing your wedding.
Will you visit our ceremony/reception location prior to the wedding?
Scouting out the location before the wedding is not essential, but if I have not photographed at your venue in the past, I can visit to see vantage points and portrait locations. If your rehearsal is at the same time of day as the wedding; this is usually a good time for me to see the plans for the day and see how the light will fall on the scene and locations. If the rehearsal is not an option then I will visit the location a couple of weeks prior at the same time of day as the ceremony will be. This is something we can also do together.
Is it possible to go to different locations for photos throughout the day?
I do not put a limit on locations. However, I do ask that you ensure to contract us for the proper amount of hours/coverage which will include travel time to the desired location(s). If time does not allow on the day of your wedding, then consider a Pre-Wedding Bridal Session or a Day-After Session.
What is the turnaround time for products?
Proofs are available for viewing approximately 4 to 6 weeks after your wedding day. We may post a few sneak peek images on our blog and/or Facebook before that. Make sure that you and your friends are subscribers of our social media. For albums the production time is 4 to 6 weeks after final design approval. Your framed wall portrait will be ready within 1 month of you chosing your desired image.
What if it rains on the big day?
It is always good to have a back-up plan in the event of inclement weather, but just because the weather may not be perfect does not mean we cannot make beautiful imagery. Some unique photos can be shot on dark, rainy or foggy days. If you have your heart set on outdoor portraits and the weather is not cooperating; a Day-After Session can be arranged.
What is your payment policy?
We accept checks, cash, money orders and all major credit cards. We require a non-refundable retainer fee of $200. This keeps your date from being booked by another couple. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to your wedding. I also offer payment plans if you are looking for that option.
What happens if there is an emergency and you are not able to be at our wedding?
We have a network of photographers that we can reach out to in an emergency situation and will help you find a suitable replacement of similar quality and style.
Do we receive copyright permission of our images?
If your purchase the digital files or they are part of your collection, I give you reprint permission which means you have my permission to print the images at any lab of your choice. I retain the copyright. On occassion my images are used in publications. If for any reason, work related or otherwise you wish not to have your photos submitted, just let me know and I will honor that request.
