Keri & Ryan - Granby CT Wedding

September 16, 2015  •  1 Comment

As the signs of fall tempt us into September, Ryan & Keri's wedding brings us to those beautiful rich autumnal colors. A pair of 'love birds' embellished the guests’ invitations and set the tone and theme of their day, brimming with personalized details. Pairs of love birds, mimicking the bride and grooms matching tattoos, were spotted throughout the day, perched on top of the ceremony welcome sign and scattered throughout the details of their reception venue at Holcomb Farm, West Granby, CT.

The bride, relaxed and radiant in a classic elegant empire-line dress with a lace encrusted bodice, accented with rhinestones and a delicate tulle over- skirt giving the dress a beautiful flowing train. Her hair was worn up with flowers complimenting her bouquet.  Keri's sister Kelsey was her maid of honor, dressed in navy blue alongside her five bridesmaids, who all held bouquets of gypsophila. The bride's niece, accompanied by her great grandmother, pulled the infant ring-bearer down the aisle in a wagon.  The groom's parents brought Keri & Ryan's dogs to witness the joining of marriage. The knot was tied beneath a white chiffon entwined with twig arbor, with guests circled all around.

Tender moments were exchanged between Keri and her mom, as she walked to her groom. Emotion filled Ryan's face as he saw his bride for the first time. Their vows, unwritten and spoken from the heart were complimented by their bridal party reciting in turn lines from the book 'I Like You', a simple silly timeless reminder of friendship on how their love grew. A perfect "love letter in its beautiful child-like simplicity, was the perfect compliment to their nuptials officiated by the groom's uncle.

The couple took their bridal party and closest family to the 'ancient oak of Granby' for pictures within the boughs and branches of this old white oak tree, believed to be one of the oldest trees in New England. As the reception celebrations began each guest received their own Mason jar drinking vessel, personalized in thanks from the newlyweds. The reception had a backyard grill vibe as BBQ food was served from an outside buffet. Inside the barn was decorated with autumnal floral center-pieces and even the cake sat on a pile of personalized crates in keeping with the elegant rustic theme.

What a fun wedding – thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day - Congratulations to you both.....Be "goofus of the roofus" together forever!
