What a beautiful beginning to an exciting wedding season. After a roller-coaster of a week for the bride, with highs of an early arriving newborn niece, lows of an unexpected blanket of snow and deflated dreams of having her sister as her maid of honor sent Lora's plain-sailing wedding plans for a loop. Nothing however was stopping Lora & Jacob's wedding day being perfect. Jacob sat behind Lora in English class their junior year at high school, but it wasn’t until five years ago that Lora agreed to go on date with Jacob, only to discover that he was eyeing up the waitress! Friendship blossomed into love though when Lora finally gave into dating for real. Like Ed Sheeran sang during their first dance, "That maybe we found love right where we are".
Lora's beauty reflected back from the same mirror that her mother got ready in front of the day she got married. In a strapless champagne lace fit and flare design, lace down back and chapel train, the bride was just radiant. Tousled curls cascaded over her shoulders beneath her short veil on the arm of her father as she joyfully walked down the aisle of St. Peter's church, Auburn to meet her beau. The couples family values shone through as all of their nieces and nephews joined them in the bridal procession.
The newlyweds arrived at Candia Woods for their reception in Jacob's black Chevy truck in keeping with their down-to-earth style and personality. Although winds blew away spring showers, Lora was ready for the greens at the links in her coordinating pink rain boots and umbrella, along with her pastel pink rose and calla lily bouquet. The day was filled with playful banter between the newlyweds, I cannot remember how many times I heard, "How can you not love him?", as Lora spoke lovingly of her groom, but her Italian fire ignited as she got revenge in the cake smash! Pintrest inspired wine glasses dipped in glitter adorned each table as a centerpiece in keeping with the gold/champagne and rose coloring.
It was a celebration filled with fun, laughter, love and raw emotion. Congratulations to you both as you start this new journey together! It was an honor to be a part of your day. Have a great honeymoon in Puerto Rico! As I leave you with some of my favorite images from the day, I also want to leave you with the lyrics from their first dance..................... dreaming of a lifetime together as they get enveloped in bubbles.
Ed Sheeran "Thinking Out Loud"
When your legs don't work like they used to before
And I can't sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?
And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Well, me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am
So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are
When my hair's all but gone and my memory fades
And the crowds don't remember my name
When my hands don't play the strings the same way
I know you will still love me the same
